Research

  • There are no tools for web designers and for cooperation with programmers
  • Large market but not well developed
  • Lack of understanding of web design
  • Editors on the market require coding knowledge or were too trivial
  • Editors were not adapted to RWD
  • Market solutions did not support CMSs
  • Despite the known solutions with development tools, editors, none of the parties does not have a version control
  • The only solution that partially matched the idea was from a different industry

Pain points

  • Creation of the platform architecture
  • Lack of good practice from the market, which could shape the project
  • Small team
  • The complexity of the project was difficult for the recipient to understand, and the analogies used trivialized the problem that could be solved

The graphic editor allows you to create digital products without coding

Version control

The system has GIT based version control

Styling

The blocks are linked to the style app that was connected as a Briefbook.

Instant CMS

Each block has in itself the business logic, which is connected to bilateral communication with the CMS system

Summary Gambit

Despite the great commitment and hundreds of hours of work on the board, notebooks, code editor and graphic editors, we managed to create a residual prototype of the application. The resulting components were tested on some websites that we were implementing at that time as a team of freelancers. The project turned out to be too big for such a small team, but we did not give up on the need for such a tool, and changed our approach to work.

From the set of many modules that were to constitute the platform, we distinguished the key ones in order to extract those that have a chance of the fastest monetization.
We've done what's known in startup manuals as a pivot to keep going on our big project.

Deliverables

  • MVP
  • Unified design systems for the platform
  • Tons of editor prototypes
  • Promo movie (my first and list after effects project)
  • Market and competition analysis
  • User interviews

Results

  • MVP has been on implementing our business partner from a group of Fortune 500
  • Work on Gambit resulted in the creation of a framework that will be used in future projects

Briefbook.ai

Intro

The BriefBook app aims to solve the problem of countless iterations faced by designers. In our experience this problem starts at the very beginning of any project - the briefing phase. Over 50% of these are carried out over the phone with not even a single note being taken. This leads to serious discrepancies between the client’s vision and the final design.

We solve this by streamlining the briefing process and providing an objective point of reference. The BriefBook app allows you to quickly extract design principles from references provided by the client and present preliminary designs in the form of mood elements. You can then adjust these designs live based on client feedback. Once you’re done, you’re left with a mood board - an objective point of reference for further work that both you and your client agree on.

Briefbook.ai first prototype | 2016

Briefbook.ai first prototype (closer look) + gerenated results | 2016

Summary Briefbook

After contacting over 100 designers around the world, it can be said that the idea of the project was received positively. Each respondent confirmed a defined problem at the outset - designers are required to read the customer's mind - and some deal with it better, others worse.

The design itself remained in the early prototype phase that was shown above. During the interviews, I had the opportunity to talk about generative design with Adrian Shaughnessy, who noted that this will be the future of design.
